  • What a gift that this Preserve exists! Trails were well marked and the path around the lake was very easy to walk. For an additional challenge, try out the lookout. Very nice description of mountains on the horizon. The interpretive center had lovely descriptions of birds and other critters. Local poetry and natural habitat. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would 100% recommend it.
  • This place is insanely beautiful - so lush and full of life. The $5 admission is well worth it. Unfortunately part of the palm lake loop is currently closed due to a large fallen tree on the path but there is a pretty large network of trails to keep you busy and exploring. Even though it was humid and the end of July during my visit, I didn't have an issue with bug bites and I didn't come across any snakes, so do not let that deter you during the hotter months. The restrooms near the parking lot were very clean. All of the workers were very nice and informative about the place. All in all a highly recommended location!
