Visit National Mall, the historical national park where Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech. The park contains the Washington Monument and spans the region between the Lincoln Memorial and the United States Capitol. This park hosts numerous recreational activities, festivals, and concerts, but is most appreciated as a site for historic political rallies and gatherings, such as the Vietnam War Moratorium Rally in 1969. Millions of people visit the park annually to stand in the place where Martin Luther King Jr. delivered his famous speech, and every four years Americans flood the park to watch the Presidential Inauguration. We've been to 30 countries around the world and DC's monuments, museums and parks are by far the nicest. Definitely not the oldest, but very beautiful and impressive. Would highly recommend.

It's a beautiful place with numerous monuments and museums based on the History of America. Very interesting and informative. Can easily spend a day here by just strolling through the entire area visiting all the memorials. There's a lot of walking involved. It would be a pleasant experience. If you decide to visit the museums, it may take more than a day. So plan accordingly.

It's a beautiful place dotted with numerous monuments and museums throwing light on the History of America. Very interesting and informative. Can easily spend a day here by just strolling through the entire area visiting all the memorials. There's a lot of walking involved, but if weather holds good (not so hot/cold), it would be a pleasant experience. It was slightly drizzling when we were there and so we loved all the walking and could go on and on without getting tired. If you decide to visit the museums, it may take more than a day. So plan accordingly.
