From the midway stop at the Observation Deck--at an altitude of 2,780 m (9,123 ft)--you can see all of Lake Tahoe, Carson Valley, and Desolation Wilderness. Once you reach the top of the mountain, you can enjoy myriad activities, such as hiking or zip-lining. If you have a serious problem with heights, you may not enjoy the gondola ride. Wow - Wow - Wow! The views are incredible - don’t miss the trip on the gondola. But don’t buy hamburger at the top at the Tamarack Lodge - the worst hamburger 🍔 have ever ate!

We loved it here!!!! Summer time but awesome. Rode the gondola to the top then a ski lift a bit higher. No zip lines for adults open so that was a bummer. Small hikes and some cheese burgers at the ski lodge and we had a great time. So beautiful.

Beautiful!!! You have to make time to take this trip up the gondolas to the mountain top. During the first stop you get to walk around the observation deck. The views are amazing!!! The second stop takes you to the ski area. Spend some time enjoying the views and the people skiing. Even if you don't ski, just watching is beautiful. Once you take gondola down, there is no stopping so enjoy as much as you can on the observation deck.
