  • Seattle Art Museum is on the smaller side, but it still has plenty of art to see. I take my time in museums and try to see everything. Still, it only took maybe an hour and a half to see all of this museum’s collections. The most stunning part of the museum, for me, was the Porcelain Room. Here plates and vases are displayed nontraditionally without labels next to each of them. Rather than displaying the porcelain in sections based on date, location, and manufacturer, the room is instead organized by color. This approach lets you focus on the aesthetics of the porcelain without getting too caught up in history. I loved how the curators designed this!
  • I had a great time visiting on the Free Museum Day! You go in and get a free ticket at the entrance and there are exhibits in the upper two floors. The first floor is mostly modern art, the second has a lot more art from other cultures and eras. Some exhibits I liked more than others but it was cool seeing everything. I loved the porcelain room! It's not huge, I go through museums quickly too so I was only there 30-45 mins but you could def stay longer if you look at things more. I don't think I'd pay regular price to come back but def recommend on a free museum day or with free library passes. It's right by the University St link stop which is convenient too!
