The Yaddo Garden Association, founded in 1991, is dedicated to the restoration and preservation of the gardens at Yaddo. The gardens consist of both a rose garden and a rock garden. Volunteers of the Yaddo Garden Association do all phases of garden work. The Yaddo Gardens are open to the public seven days a week, from 8 a.m. to dusk. For Yaddo Gardens and beyond, use our Saratoga Springs trip itinerary planning app to get the most from your Saratoga Springs vacation.
The gardens feature a variety of plants which peak throughout the season. The roses begin to bloom mid-June and are at peak from about the third week of June through July and then peak again mid to late August. The rock garden is in bloom mid-June through mid-September. The remainder of the estate is private and may be visited only on special occasions.

Was fortunate to go on on of their Open House Public tours to see the insides of the two main buildings - so this is not a review of their lovely gardens. What an incredible place full of history...

Had never been inside the gates…that was a mistake! This is an oasis inside of an oasis and well worth the trek inside. The grounds are really nice.

Such a beautiful, serene place to visit. I love the history of this property, and I love that this space is available to visit (for free!) where you can relax and enjoy the gardens. If you want a guided garden tour, it's $10 per person and the proceeds goes directly back to the org maintaining the gardens, which are comprised of volunteers. The tour guide is very knowledgeable about Yaddo and the property's rich history and loves answering questions 😀 Some tips: bring your preferred bug repellant if visiting in the summer, don't wear sandals (😑) since there are no paved paths. The only thing that I hope can be improved in the future is handicap access. Wheelchairs or motorized carts would have a difficult time here.

Gardens open promptly at 11 and there’s a small parking area to access them. The rose garden is lovely with fountains, and when I was there the fountains and pools at the rock garden were empty. Still a lovely little stop- only took about 20 minutes to see the whole thing.
