In downtown Santa Barbara just a walk form the nearest beach, Jaffurs Wine Cellars offer a chance to taste a range of acclaimed Rhone varietals. You can buy the wines online, but if you drop by the tasting room, you'll have a chance to meet the winemakers and learn a little about the production process. Tours are available upon request, but you don't need an appointment to visit during regular tasting hours. Tasting fee will be waved with the purchase of two (or more) bottles. Call in advance to organize a visit for a group of more than six people. Love Jaffurs. Every wine is fantastic. My faves are their Viognier and Syrahs. Not to miss, although they are a bit off the wine path in SB!
