Fremont Peak State Park is a California State Park located in Monterey County and San Benito County, California. The park encompasses the summit of 3,169-foot (966 m) Fremont Peak in the Gabilan Range.

The park features expansive views of Monterey Bay and Pacific Ocean from its hiking trails. Other vistas include the San Benito Valley, Salinas Valley, and the Santa Lucia Mountains east of Big Sur. The 162-acre (66 ha) park was established in 1934.

This is a gem of a campground! I went with a small group and it was a great, relaxing time. Trails to the peak are easily accessible from the campground (the view is totally worth the trek!) but this is also a beautiful, quiet, and relatively shaded campground if you're just looking to hang around the fire!

Great park for the overnight camping (reservation is required) or for the day trip. Come here before sunset. It's beautiful. You can take a short walk to the tower, or you can also walk about 4 miles in a circle around the park. Restrooms are only at the campsites. $6 day use parking, self-registration.
