Learn a bit of military history by exploring SS Jeremiah O'Brien, one of nearly 7,000 ships that stormed Normandy on D-Day. Located on San Francisco's popular waterfront, this historic ship is one of the city's premiere attractions. Though 2,710 Liberty vessels were built during the war, this is one of only two fully functional ships still in existence. Hop aboard this living museum for a glimpse into the life of a wartime sailor. Explore the space and learn about the war through informative displays at this National Historic Landmark. • Amazing floating museum!! Massive kudos to Linda and the whole team here, their passion and hard work to preserve the history and knowledge surrounding this epic piece of history shines as soon as you speak to them. Self guided tour was clearly outlined in the program provided. Price of admission is very reasonable at $20 ($15) for students. There's no time limit, in fact there's so much to see and learn about it's best to take your time. Working guns allow you to manipulate actual artillery (not loaded obviously). Accurate dioramas show the scenario at omaha beach of which this ship was part of. Can't recommend this enough for all ages!
  • Awesome experience. Love touring on the ship that won WWII and came back home after the heroic victory. The staff was awesome. The price is very reasonable. I most definitely recommend. You will not be disappointed.
