This place is so cool! it is not too big either which I think is great. You can really take time to see the various rooms without feeling exhausted. We went on a lovely sunny day so keep in mind the temp and humidity is such to keep very tropical plants thriving in here (so no jackets are needed!). Once you’re done I highly recommend sitting on the lawn with a blanket and having a picnic if the weather allows. The perfect afternoon in my opinion. Great place to take visitors.

Stunning building and the indoors is lovely. The outdoor grounds are well manicured with many lovely outdoor flowering species. The ticket prices are very reasonable and you can pay a little extra to be able to enter the Japanese tea gardens and botanical gardens in Golden gate Park as well. The building is very old and has been well maintained over the decades. Different little annexes inside of different species of plants and micro climates. It is humid, so be prepared. It is a greenhouse after all.
