Swim, kite surf, or simply relax at China Beach. The shallow water provides a safe place for kids and less experienced swimmers to safely enjoy themselves. Bring food to prepare on one of the outdoor grills and picnic tables. Kite surfing enthusiasts can take advantage of the wide shoreline and good winds here. More secluded than others in the area, this beach offers a quiet getaway from crowds. No kiosks or shops--but you get a great view of the Golden Gate Bridge on a clear day. • It was pretty quiet, and so beautiful. A tad chilly but it's October. It was a little bit of a hike but worth it. We did see some skinny dippers which was interesting and fun to see their giddiness...

  • I have been there twice and definitely third time is coming. Beach is cleverly hidden in one of the reachest neighborhoods of San Francisco with Switzerland embassy right next to it (coincidence?). This beach used to have public amenities as well like public showers but they been phased out. Right now there are only honey bucket kinda restrooms left. But still better than nothing! The beach is separated by a rock on two, smaller and a bigger one. Smaller one is definitely more quite and private. On occasion you can observe some nudist on it. San Francisco you gotta love.
  • It was my first time there I was surprised with how pretty the view of the bridge was, even tho the beach was a little small it was still very nice and not crowded
