What it lacks in physical size, Seneca Park Zoo makes up for in exhibits, activities, and special programs. Encompassing a little over 6 hectares (15 acres), the zoo houses over 90 different species including polar bears, African penguins, sea lions, sandhill cranes, snowy owls, lions, baboons, and elephants. The zoo strives to educate and entertain the public; its interactive lessons about animal and resource conservation are designed to attract visitors of all ages. Be sure to visit the area dedicated to simple ways you can help protect the animals living in your own backyard. Check the online special events calendar and sign up for lessons and activities well in advance. Nice little zoo. Beautiful location. Animals look well cared for. Staff friendly and helpful. Understandably a lot of the shops were closed as not prime season

This Zoo is fantastic, beautiful, and full of love for the animals. Although small compared to others, it packs a big visual punch for its visitors. The exhibits are amazing and provide a real view into the domicile of the wildlife. The animals look happy, relaxed, and well taken care of in their environment. I enjoyed the natural lay of the park, and the well written passages that taught me about its residents. I highly recommend Seneca Park Zoo to all travelers passing through Rochester, NY.

I went with my daughter's class for their class field trip. It was tough during winter as many of the animals were inside, it was a windy and cold day but was still a fun experience. We were still able to see many animals and even had a little personal session for the kids to learn about a few of the animals with two of the zoo staff members. The summer is the best time to go as there are more animals out and about. I can't wait to take all my kids there again.
