Trip Planner: USA / California / Marin County / Point Reyes National Seashore / Point Reyes Station / Heidrun Meadery
Heidrun Meadery was founded in 1997 in Arcata, California. In 2008 we purchased a slightly funky and defunct dairy farm in the agricultural and culinary oasis of Point Reyes Station, Marin County, California, with the ambitious objectives of relocating the meadery nearer to the Bay Area, expanding our mead production, setting up a commercial beekeeping operation, starting a bee forage cultivation program and establishing a modest visitor’s center and tasting room.Put Heidrun Meadery and other Point Reyes National Seashore attractions into our Point Reyes National Seashore tour itinerary planner, and watch your holiday take shape.
Our tasting room is open to visitors everyday except for Tuesday. You can drop in for a tasting or reserve a spot on one of our tours. Come visit a place like no other!

Absolutely beautiful meadery on an incredible property with fields of flowers. The mead is great too of course. Fantastic for a picnic.

My family and I decided to take a chance a show up without a reservation on a Wednesday afternoon. Luckily it was slow and they were able to accommodate 4 of us for a tasting. The sparkling mead was so refreshing, without being too sweet. Each had a really nice flavor. We enjoyed it so much we bought 3 bottles. The woman who helped us was so kind and friendly. The grounds were beautiful. They have picnic tables with umbrellas, perfect for a picnic!
9/6/2022, the day after Labor Day, unusual heat strikes this area. We almost canceled 1pm appointment because of the heat. But, we are glad to keep the appointment & stay there for almost 3-hr. Enjoyed chill honey champagne & shades of picnic area! I end up with half dozen of these unique “Honey Champagne”. Honeys comes from different flowers & areas that mixed with pure water & special yeast produce these champagne-like-mead (hydromel). It’s new to me! Especially chilled in the ice in a hot summer day……. it just tastes great! I like the Hawaii Lehua Blossom the best. I also like very much both the Point Reyes & Marin County Wildflower. Orange & Carrot blossom will be great with my seafood especially for oyster I think! Coming here for a glass of chilled mead in a hot summer day with your favorite snacks at picnic area is a special experience!
