Arastradero Preserve is a beautiful mixture of rolling savanna grassland and broadleaf evergreen forest with trails for hikers, cyclists and horses. It varies in elevation from 275 feet in the northeast to 775 feet in the southwest. Wildlife abounds on the preserve and it is not uncommon to see deer, bobcats, coyotes, and many varieties of birds. • Nice parking lot, free, beautiful views, small visitor center with information about local wildlife and Ohlone history. Nice bathrooms. Parts of the hike have little to no shade so bring sun gear. The trails are gravel and dirt (not wheelchair or stroller friendly). Great place for families. Wish the hikes were a bit more accessible.
  • Great place to hike. There is a vista point about 2.5 miles down the trail, which was good. It was easy to find parking at 8 am on a Saturday. More people started coming in and the lot was getting full around 9 - 10 am.
