Leashed dogs are allowed here and the trails are easy walking, although, after several hours, I wished I wore heavier soled shoes.......most of the trails were on pebbley terrain. I saw a multitude..... more

You can hike on the levees from Byxbee Park to Mountain View's Shoreline Park - it's about 2 miles to the pump house (which is the closest side of the Mountain View section to Byxbee) or continue...

This a great place in the Palo Alto bay area for a scenic walk around the bay. There are many options to vary your path on each visit and most of the trails are dog friendly! The plethora of birds created an amazing ambiance that made you want to just sit and relax. I would highly recommend bringing bug spray due to the water providing quite a bit of mosquitoes.

Byxbee Park provides a nice flat trail with slight inclines. This park has scenic views of the bay with benches around the park. There are various paths with various lengths so you could spend between 30 minutes to 2 hours easily. I recommend this place for everyone, from beginners to avid nature enthusiasts. Park is clean and well-kept.
