The Testimonial Gateway, New Paltz

Went for outdoor nature walk with parents and bro. Weather was a little cold and was drizzling a little. Walked half way past the bridge then back for about 1hr. Was a nice walk with not so many people around because of holiday and cold weather. Will probably going back during the summer time and walk further to see what's on the other end.

The gatehouse at the entrance to the Mohonk Preserve, leading to the carriage trails to the foot of the Shawnagunk (sp?) Mountains. This is an easy walk through the northern version of Oak Alley, at the start, and then through fields before getting to the foothills. The trails are wide and well marked, and there are placard posts describing the area, scenic overlooks, or trail maps
