  • Blue Ocean Whale Watching is the only whale tour I'll ever use. While I understand much of whale watching is luck, Kate and her crew found us 4 species of whale, numerous species of birds, otters, and sea lions over the course of our trip. The crew was extremely friendly, knowledgeable, and the tour itself was very comfortable despite increasing winds making for some chop. As it was my first time, I was of course very impressed, but many people on the small tour I undertook were regulars-- a sure sign of the quality of this tour group.
  • Probably the best whale watching agency in Moss Landing! What we saw: A lot of humpbacks, about 8 blue whales and a massive Mola fish. Me and my friends went whale watching last weekend with Blue Ocean Whale Watch and I am very happy I chose them out of the many options. Blue Ocean Whale Watch had a smaller boat AND a reduced capacity, so that there was always enough space on deck to walk around and get a good view of a whale when it pops up. There were two marine biologists on board who would give fun facts or answer questions. Additionally the captain was very knowledgeable and she was very passionate about showing us the whales. She would always try to get a good view of the whales while not disturbing them. One of my friends went with Sanctuary Cruises and we saw another agency while on the water and both had bigger ships and were way more packed. According to my knowledge their prices are even about the same as Blue Ocean. I can definitively recommend them to anyone who wants to maximize their chance of seeing these beautiful creatures!
