Browse aisle after aisle of some of the biggest music legends at Amoeba Music, a retro-looking store offering new CDs, used CDs, DVDs, Bluerays, cassettes, and LP vinyls. The store is part of a chain, and with 250,000 titles, it remains one of the largest independent music shops in the world. Its retro appeal made it a Hollywood landmark almost instantly, its reputation made by a broad collection of music under one roof, showcased over its shopping floors and jazz room. The stock is ever changing as loyal customers come in to trade old for new, and vice versa. • Better selection than Amazon and lower prices. A national treasure. UPDATE: The new location is too small with no dedicated parking. No space to do live events. Smaller selection and tighter aisles. You really just want to get in and get out - if you even go at all. I use to shop at the Sunset Blvd. location twice a week. Now, maybe, I'll go twice a year at the new location. Too bad, they got greedy and sold their building to CONDO DEVELOPERS. How is that any better than what Amazon does?
  • I miss the old location but the new one is not bad. Just have to get use to it. The store is spacious. It also has a stage like to old one. I feel they are selling more t shirts than before. Found parking on the street but I heard that they do have parking and I saw a lot behind the store. They do have a line to get in but it moves pretty fast.
