Best known for its castle-like tower built into a hillside, Victoria Beach lies within a residential area offering its steep cliffs, white sands, and blue-green waters to sightseers and anglers. The photogenic, medieval-looking turret from 1926 rises from the sand at the north end of the beach, right next to a staircase leading down to the beach. When strolling, always keep an eye on the ocean, as large waves tend to break on shore. Sports enthusiasts can use volleyball courts or engage in diving, body surfing, or skimboarding at the south end of the beach. One of the great spots on the Coast, like a postcard picture. Worth the challenge of parking to get to this spot.

Coming from Wisconsin for a very short trip, I was hoping to have a beach day, and Victoria Beach did not disappoint. Parking was a walk, but worth it. After parking on Coast Highway and walking down a very steep drive to the stairs we realized that there was a parking spot right by the steps to the beach. The steps are kind of hidden, but after we went down the steps it opened up to a beautiful beach. I don't know if the water is always so rough, but when we went it was extremely rough and not a safe beach for young children without a life jacket and keeping a very close distance to them. Landscape photographers... bring your camera, tripod, ND filters, and lens wipes... I left mine at the hotel and could have gotten some amazing low shutter speed shots with the waves rushing over the rocky shore. While we were exploring we looked back to see the seagulls had zipped open my backpack, took out the bag of chips, opened it and ate them all. Quite comical. Beautiful place for a sunset.

One of my absolute favorite beaches in the area. No easy access. Park on PCH and walk down. Steep stairs and road going up or down. Go at low tide so you can check out tide pools and tower.
