Create an itinerary including Vandenberg Wreck
Add Vandenberg Wreck to your bucket list to discover the remnants of a squire-class transport ship 159 m (522 ft) in length. The ship served in the United States Navy during World War II and finally retired in the 1980s. Sunk purposely in 2009, the wreck now represents the second-largest artificial reef of its kind. Visitors can explore this underwater playground by scuba diving, as the deck of the ship sits 28 m (92 ft) below the surface of the water. Colorful schools of fish dart in and out of the rooms and hallways, and well-placed lights aid with visibility. • A great wreck to dive. Excellent both day and night. Large, not too deep, and lots to see on the wreck.
