Create an itinerary including Zabriskie Point
Famous as the spot on the cover of the U2 album "The Joshua Tree," Zabriskie Point is a geological curiosity formed by sediment from a dried-up lake. Thermal waters gave it color, and wind and lava shaped its erosion patterns. This location is named after Christian Zabriskie, vice-president of the Borax company, which had mining operations in Death Valley. The sun makes high-contrast shadows on the formations, which change over the course of the day. • A short ride from the village area, you climb to top of the point. The sun rise (which was our choice) reflects the multi color landscape. It gets a little windy on top.

  • Beautiful! My friend knew this amazing spot from prior visits. It is absolutely worth taking a detour to admire this beauty of nature. Parking is easy and the walk to the point only takes a couple of minutes. The view from the Vista is absolutely breathtaking.
  • Zabriskie Point in Death Valley National Park is one of the most popular spots in the park because it’s an easy hike and right off the main road. If I had more time, I’d want to hike through the canyons. Really pretty here.
