Wildhorse Golf Club, Davis

Had higher expectations. Layout was pretty cool for the most part. Tee boxes fairway and rough all need work. Lots of weeds. Green side bunkers were nice fairway bunkers were just about unplayable. Really hope they improve the conditions!

For the cost I expected to have an average experience. It was the worst. Every single sand trap was a mud puddle with about 6 inches of water. Most greens were so water logged that the ball barely rolled. Any time you hit not in the fairway you had to step through deep mud. This is especially impressive considering that it hasn't rained in California since March. When we stopped at the turn to get drinks we were yelled at by a grounds keeper for parking in the wrong spot when there was no signage that showed that. On hole 12 we were heald up by 2 groups of slow players, then to have the Marshall come and bark at us for not keeping pace of play when the other groups are clearly visible in front of us. It makes since that having grown up playing golf in Davis I never played here in my 18 years. I would highly recommend you save your money and just go play the Davis Muni golf course instead. Update, on hole 18, we've only seen the Marshall 1 time when he yelled at us. Still waited behind 2 groups the whole round with 0 help from staff. DO NOT PLAY HERE. IT IS A TERRIBLE GUEST EXPERIENCE.
