National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum
A center for the study of the history of American baseball, National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum is often called Cooperstown. The museum was founded by a hotel owner, Stephen Carlton Clark, who wanted to attract tourists to the city after the Great Depression. Today the attraction is a hub of education about American history in sports and culture. I don't watch sports like I used to and even when I did, I watched football and basketball more than baseball. Moreover, I grew up outside the US and so didn't grow up with the baseball culture. But even as a relative novice, I thoroughly enjoyed my visit. The museum does a great job presenting the history, and showcasing all the significant players and events. I came away with a much better understanding of the game, being able to place names and people in the overall timeline and a fuller appreciation for all the accomplishments. Well worth the drive from NYC.

I am not a huge baseball but I do enjoy the game overall. The museum has some great displays covering all teams and the history of baseball. The town of Cooperstown is a cute quaint town that is worth spending some time in. Overall I was happy with my visit.
