Miniature Engineering Craftsmanship Museum (MECM), Carlsbad

If in the area, this is a nice and interesting museum to check out. It's quite small (literally and figuratively), but there are lots of interesting things. I enjoyed the musical devices, doll houses, matchstick buildings, firearms, and cars. If you really like engines there were many displays. Things go in rotation so in a few months there may be something new.

This place is a must visit! The amount of creativity is mind blowing. This place is truly incredible. The hand made items here are hard to describe. Real working motors at 1/6th size are amazing! The doll houses and everything here is all worth the time spent here. Please be prepared to spend at least a couple of hours. You will be assisted by the knowledgeable employees who tell you the stories of what is displayed. The minitures of several different items on display all have interesting stories and even more interesting are the makers behind the scenes. I had a great time and left with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship on display. Do yourself a favor and experience this location for yourself. I highly recommend a visit. Great place for the entire family to visit.
