Robert Louis Stevenson State Park, Calistoga

The park has some nice geology, scenery and wildflowers. Nothing extraordinary, but still worth at least a half day visit. The Labyrinth was really cool, and it was interesting to find an activity in Napa County, that wasn't wine related. However, the trails aren't very well marked. In fact, there are some that aren't marked at all. There is a sign at the parking lot saying not to venture off the trails, because of private property, but there are no signs indicating that you're about to enter private property. They really need to put more signs on the trails. There were a couple of occasions where we basically had to guess, and hope that we went the right direction. Also, I understand this park is undeveloped, but it wouldn't kill them to at least put a porta potty and trashcan at the parking lot.

Hiked to the summit. Would not want to do this in the summer! For now, wear layers. It was cold in the woods and at the summit but warm in the middle 4.5 miles. NO LATRINE and NO GARBAGE CANS. Be good to each other and pack your waste.
