Benicia State Recreation Area is a state park unit of California, United States, protecting tidal wetland. It is located in the Solano County city of Benicia, 2 miles (3.2 km) west of downtown Benicia and borders Vallejo's Glen Cove neighborhood. The park covers 447 acres (181 ha) of marsh, grassy hillsides and rocky beaches along the narrowest portion of the Carquinez Strait. Southampton Creek and the tidal marsh front Southampton Bay, where the combined waters of the Sacramento and San Joaquin Rivers approach San Pablo Bay, the northern portion of San Francisco Bay.

  • Whether you want a nice walk or you want to go fishing, the natural scenery is beautiful. Views of the Carquinea Straits abound!

  • I think it's good area to walk but it can improve by creating a side walk instead of walking by the car , and enjoy the view and clean weather. But I wish they make a playground for kids too.

  • It is an enjoyable walk. You have the option of walking on pavement the entire way or doing a couple loops venturing out into the wilderness a bit. I recommend the loops since it takes you further from the road noise.
  • Great park to explore with incredible views of the Carquinez Strait (where Sacramento and San Joaquin rivers meet). Nice views of Mt. Diablo and the Carquinez bridge too.
