The Charles Paddock Zoo is a small 5-acre (2.0 ha) community zoo located in San Luis Obispo County, California, in the City of Atascadero, California. It is the only zoo in the Central Coast area of that U.S. state. It is also home to a male Malayan tiger named Menderu.

Accredited since 1991, the zoo is one of the smallest zoos accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums (AZA).

Such a cute little zoo. Took my son for his birthday and he loved it! It’s definitely the perfect size to get a toddler tired. I have been coming here since I was younger and it has changed in many ways. Love the red panda exhibit. Adult admission was reasonable for the size of this zoo. Theres plenty of parking and a near by park.

This is a small zoo with really neat exhibits. They have an assortment of different species. A portion of the zoo was being worked on when we visited, so calling ahead to see if all exhibits are available to view may be worthwhile. We made it by all the animals that were on display in about an hour. The gift shop has plenty of things to choose from to remember your visit.
