Images of bighorn sheep chipped into a sandstone boulder at Wolfe Ranch provide a look at the lifestyle of native tribes who lived here before the arrival of European settlers. These etched images were made using primitive tools, depicting equestrians, dogs, and a variety of figures engaged in hunting scenes. Accessible by a trail, the panel lies some 183 m (600 ft) from the main Delicate Arch trail and is worth a short detour at the sign. • Go past the cabin and turn left past the bridge. The petroglyphs are clearly marked and sectioned off. There are a couple of different rocks with artwork; 1 has the most items.

  • Wolfe Ranch is one bonus to Delicate Arch Trail. The Ranch was occupied by Wolfe and his son and later by the first custodian or Arches. The petroglyphs nearby are are the second. Both of these historic features were surprises to us and added to the splendor of Arches.
  • This ranch was very well built. Hard to believe an entire family lived in the small in ground house them moved to the nice but slightly larger house. I love the way these buildings we’re built. Make sure to stop and appreciate this historic site on the way to Delicate Arch.
