  • What an amazing experience! One of the best hikes I've ever done. More than a hike, it's an exploration. It's easy to get lost, but that is part of the fun. You need a permit to get in. You can get it a few days in advance at recreation.gov. it only costs $10. Really worth it!
  • Awesome!!!! Get the permit! It’s worth it!!!! Wasn’t sure what to expect when doing this. $10/per person for the permit and you sign up at 8am exactly 1 week (7 days) ahead of time. Have to be quick as they only allow 65 people a day. We loved this hike. We were concerned with reading all the reviews saying they got lost here or there. With that said, you WANT to get lost. It doesn’t make sense I know, but keep All Trails handy and you’ll always be able to get back to the main trail. The dead ends are the best part of this trail. A permit is required. There was no Ranger at the entrance/exit of the trailhead but we did encounter a Ranger an hour into our hike asking to see our permit! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this trail or do it again in the future. We tried to take every “finger” of the trail but we still missed some. I’d do it again just to try and find more!
