  • Amazing location not that far from the highway. If you want a cool route 66 location to stop in on with friends and family, or just an interesting landmark on your way into California, this is well worth the stop! Great place to stop for some photos, a walk around or a snack. Staff was very helpful, and even in the height of expensive gas it wasn't too terrible for how remote of a location it is. Wide range of snacks available too, plenty of drinks, etc.
  • Visited here whilst travelling on route 66. It seemed to be a really popular stop for other travellers too. It is a real shame that the road is closed just beyond Roy's Cafe due to unsafe bridges, as you have to make a 30 mile round trip to visit. There is plenty to photograph at this stop - including abandoned motel rooms. It's a shame that some previous visitors have felt it was ok to use the toilets in the abandoned motel rooms, as obviously they cannot be flushed - not pleasant! Chemical toilets are available at this stop (although you need to be brave to use them). The route 66 signs on the road were a very popular photo opportunity for everyone who was there. It was good seeing people being creative with their poses. I really hope that Roy's Cafe continues to be a popular Route 66 attraction.
