Founded in 1621, University of Oxford Botanic Garden is the oldest botanic garden in Great Britain and one of the oldest scientific gardens in the world. The garden contains over 8,000 different plant species and covers nearly 2 hectares (4.5 acres). It is one of the most diverse yet compact collections of plants in the world, comprised of three distinct sections. The garden’s greenhouses shelter plants from around the globe, many from much warmer climates, thriving inside an environment that protects them from the extremes of British weather. • Lobely Gardens both inside and outside. The rainforest garden was really good and so many plants to see. The cacti across the gardens were immense and so were very tall. Admission is relatively cheap....  more

  • This was a very nice place to visit. I especially liked the glass houses with the more exotic plants. There is lots of stuff to see here, so no matter how great your interest is in plants and botany.....  more

  • A place of beauty. We only had a few hours to spare and this is the place we elected. The gardens and plants are lovely and ample space to walk around. Several greenhouses accommodate some of the hotter climate plants. The outdoor gardens are vast. My 7 year old son had a great time and we also had a picnic on the grass areas surrounded by beautiful plants and flowers. Recommend this place if you enjoy gardening.
  • Actually it's a great botanical gardens with lots of interesting areas. It sits on a sloping aspect with views of the city beyond. Very well laid out with something for everyone. The Bonsai trees are amazing, but easily missed if you don't follow the map. Ancient, bustling, vibrant gardens. Time flied as we wondered through the hundreds types of plants. Plus, kids loved the woody playground. We enjoyed our afternoon. We will visit again
