Create an itinerary including University of Oxford
At University of Oxford, tread the same paths as some of history’s greatest thinkers, scholars, and world leaders. Oxford was the first university in the English-speaking world, existing in some form since 1096, and remains at the forefront of learning, teaching, and research. Explore where its students live and study by visiting some of the university’s 38 colleges, each with a distinct identity. The university boasts some of the world’s finest libraries and museums, with exquisite architecture. The Bodleian Library, dating from 1602, has one of the world’s most well-regarded collections. Its artifacts include a Gutenberg Bible, the earliest surviving book written in English, and almost 10,000 western medieval and Renaissance manuscripts. Visit the Ashmolean Museum, established in 1683 (making it one of the oldest museums in the world), and see works by Michelangelo, da Vinci, and Picasso. Rest your brain and stretch your legs in the University Parks’ 28 hectares (70 acres) of beautiful parkland, or climb the tower of University Church of St. Mary the Virgin, which offers panoramic views of the city. Check out some of the podcasts the University makes freely available, which include audio guided tours with different routes to choose from. • The University is gorgeous. In every turn you find a photo op. The colleges are great and the staff at the colleges are very friendly. It is a quick train ride from London and the Oxford train...

  • This is definitely a show stopper when it comes to Oxford and it's probably what most visitors come here for. Stunning buildings and lots of great spots for pictures. This place definitely made me miss my college years! They also have cute gift and coffee shops where you can buy lots of merch.
  • One of the world's greatest universities (although I am biased). The University of Oxford is seeded throughout the City of Oxford. Feeling more like a large county town than a major urban centre. The city and University sprawl from the centre on the High Street out to Cowley and Iffley in the west Jericho in the North and towards Abingdon in the South.
