Located just across the Potomac River from Washington, D.C., the county of Arlington blends big city and sprawling suburban environments.
Visit The Tomb of the Unknown Soldier and Old Town for their historical value. Do some cultural sightseeing at Torpedo Factory Art Center and George Washington's Mount Vernon. Step out of Arlington with an excursion to National Museum of the Marine Corps in Triangle--about 40 minutes away. There's lots more to do: tour the pleasant surroundings at Mount Vernon Trail, look for all kinds of wild species at Hidden Pond Nature Center, and grab your bike and head to Capital Crescent Trail.
