Oldest City in Germany

Trier may be the oldest city in Germany, founded long before the Roman times.
On the 2nd (Sun), examine the collection at Rhineland Museum (Rheinisches Landesmuseum), explore the ancient world of Trier Amphitheater, take in the spiritual surroundings of Liebfrauenkirche, Trier, then take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Peter's Cathedral (Dom), and finally browse the eclectic array of goods at Hauptmarkt. On your second day here, steep yourself in history at Karl Marx House, pause for some photo ops at Handwerkerbrunnen, make a trip to Porta Nigra, get a sense of history and politics at Kurfurstliches Palais, then admire the striking features of Konstantinbasilika, and finally explore the ancient world of Kaiserthermen.
