The capital and largest city of Serbia, cosmopolitan Belgrade sits on the confluence of the Sava and the Danube rivers.Kalemegdan and Skadarlija are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Bring the kids along to Nikola Tesla Museum and St. Sava Temple. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Belgrade: Oplenac (in Topola), Upper Church (in Sremski Karlovci) and Petrovaradin Fortress (in Petrovaradin).
