One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Madurai sits on the banks of the River Vaigai and serves as a center of Tamil culture.
Family-friendly places like Madurai Meenakshi Amman Temple and Palani Murugan Temple will thrill your kids. When in Madurai, make a side trip to see Sri Kottai Mariamman Kovil in Dindigul, approximately Dindigul away.
