One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Madurai sits on the banks of the River Vaigai and serves as a center of Tamil culture.
Madurai is known for historic sites, sightseeing, and museums. Bengaluru to Madurai is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also take a bus; or drive. Traveling from Bengaluru in June, things will get a bit warmer in Madurai: highs are around 40°C and lows about 30°C. Finish your sightseeing early on the 15th (Tue) to allow enough time to drive to Coimbatore.
