La Teste-de-Buch is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.It is located on the south shore of Arcachon Bay, lying in the southwestern part of Gironde.It is the largest of four communes that comprise the (COBAS), a small metropolitan area of 54,204 population (1999 census). Venture out of the city with trips to O Bains d'Ares (in Ares), Andernos-les-Bains (Jetee d'Andernos les Bains & Eglise St Eloi) and La Pointe du Cap Ferret (in Cap-Ferret). The adventure continues: admire nature's wide array of creatures at Zoo Bassin d'Arcachon, steep yourself in history at La ville d'Hiver, walk around Parc Mauresque, and take in the waterfront at Jetée Thiers.
