Bordeaux — 6 nights

The Port of the Moon

With a long history of producing regional wines since the Romans brought grapevines here during the first century, so many people consider Bordeaux to be the wine capital of the world.
Get a sense of the local culture at Place de la Bourse and La Cite du Vin. Change things up with these side-trips from Bordeaux: Chateau Cantenac (in Saint-Emilion), French Wine Adventures (in Saussignac) and Chateau de Monbazillac (in Monbazillac). There's much more to do: take in the spiritual surroundings of St. Andre Cathedral, learn about winemaking at Chateau Paloumey, don't miss a visit to The Water Mirror, and contemplate the waterfront views at Vieux Port.

For reviews, other places to visit, maps, and other tourist information, go to the Bordeaux itinerary planning app.
