Bethesda — 3 nights

Bethesda is a census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. Get a sense of the local culture at Ratner Museum and Little Library. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bethesda: St. Michaels (Boat Tours & Water Sports & 1879 Hooper Strait Lighthouse), Live! Casino & Hotel Maryland (in Hanover) and Fishpaws Marketplace (in Arnold). There's still lots to do: walk around Cabin John Regional Park, buy something for everyone on your list at Tysons Corner Center, view the masterpieces at Waverly Street Gallery, and have fun at National Rifle Association of America.
