Bethesda — 2 nights

Bethesda is a census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. Little Round Top and Chesapeake Bay Maritime Museum are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bethesda: Devils Den (in Gettysburg) and St. Michaels (Boat Tours & Water Sports & Lyon Rum Distillery). And it doesn't end there: stroll around Cabin John Regional Park, stroll through Capitol Crescent, and get a taste of the local shopping with Waverly Street Gallery.

To see ratings, maps, more things to do, and more tourist information, read Bethesda trip itinerary website.

Washington to Bethesda is an approximately 1.5-hour car ride. You can also drive. In July, daily temperatures in Bethesda can reach 87°F, while at night they dip to 69°F. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 17th (Sat) early enough to drive to Rockville.
