Quieter than nearby Patong Beach, the resort town of Karon offers a wide stretch of golden sand, which attracts mostly couples and families.

Venture out of the city with trips to Phuket Elephant Park (in Pa Khlok) and Bang Pae Waterfall (in Thep Krasattri).
