City of Angels

You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bangkok: Bridge Over the River Kwai (in Kanchanaburi), Ayutthaya (Historic City of Ayutthaya, Wat Ratchaburana (Temple of the Royal Restoration), &more) and Na Chom Thian (Upside Down Pattaya & Nong Nooch Tropical Botanical Garden). Spend the 19th (Sat) in the animal kingdom at Safari World. And it doesn't end there: steep yourself in history at The Grand Palace, take in the spiritual surroundings of Temple of the Golden Buddha (Wat Traimit), take a stroll through Khaosan Road, and explore the world behind art at Bangkok Art & Culture Centre (BACC).

Pearl of the Andamans
Thailand's largest island, Phuket lures both die-hard divers and casual beach lovers interested in spending most of their time basking in the sand and munching on local delicacies. Picturesque lagoons and an abundance of modern amenities may be the main incentive for a Phuket vacation, but you can find plenty of other things to do here once you get your fill of sun and sand. Away from the busy waterfront, the island boasts many gardens, Buddhist temples, museums, and aquariums that deserve a top spot on any traveler's Phuket itinerary.
