Quieter than nearby Patong Beach, the resort town of Karon offers a wide stretch of golden sand, which attracts mostly couples and families.
Big Buddha Phuket and Chaithararam Temple (Wat Chalong) are good opportunities to explore the local culture. Explore Karon's surroundings by going to Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket Offices (in Patong), Jui Tui Shrine (in Talat Nuea) and Green Elephant Sanctuary Park (in Choeng Thale).
