In May, Bangkok is much warmer than Dublin - with highs of 41°C and lows of 32°C. Wrap up your sightseeing on the 5th (Sun) to allow time to fly to Mai Khao.

Mai Khao, Phuket — 4 nights

The vast stretches of beach in Mai Khao, once a nesting area for the giant leatherback turtle, are home to various aquatic and relaxation activities.
Go for a jaunt from Mai Khao to Pa Khlok to see Phuket Elephant Park about 30 minutes away. And it doesn't end there: stroll through The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project (GRP), identify plant and animal life at Paradise Diving Asia, kick back and relax at Mai Khao Beach, and look for gifts at James Bespoke Suit.

Quieter than nearby Patong Beach, the resort town of Karon offers a wide stretch of golden sand, which attracts mostly couples and families.
You'll find plenty of places to visit near Karon: Choeng Thale (Green Elephant Sanctuary Park, Napas Art Gallery, &more), Elephant Jungle Sanctuary Phuket Offices (in Patong) and Phuket 3D Museum (in Talat Yai). There's lots more to do: see some colorful creatures with a scuba or snorkeling tour, relax and rejuvenate at some of the best spas, enjoy the sand and surf at Patong Beach, and stroll through Kata Beach.
