Mai Khao, Phuket — 4 nights

The vast stretches of beach in Mai Khao, once a nesting area for the giant leatherback turtle, are home to various aquatic and relaxation activities.
Step out of Mai Khao to go to Pa Khlok and see Phuket Elephant Park, which is approximately 30 minutes away. Next up on the itinerary: stroll through The Gibbon Rehabilitation Project (GRP), don't miss a visit to Takeoff Landing, enjoy the sand and surf at Naiyang Beach, and stop by James Bespoke Suit.

Traveling by flight from Bangkok to Mai Khao takes 3 hours. Alternatively, you can drive; or do a combination of train, bus, and taxi. Prepare for little chillier weather when traveling from Bangkok in May: high temperatures in Mai Khao hover around 38°C and lows are around 28°C. On the 1st (Wed), wrap the sightseeing up by early afternoon so you can drive to Karon.
