Bethesda — 2 nights

Bethesda is a census-designated place in southern Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, located just northwest of the U.S. capital of Washington, D.C. It takes its name from a local church, the Bethesda Meeting House (1820, rebuilt 1849), which in turn took its name from Jerusalem's Pool of Bethesda. Step out of the city life by going to Sky Meadows State Park and Hidden Oaks Nature Center. You'll explore the less-touristy side of things at Cabin John Regional Park and Capitol Crescent. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Bethesda: Patuxent Research Refuge - North Tract (in Laurel) and B&A Trail (in Annapolis). The adventure continues: admire the masterpieces at Ratner Museum, hike along Sligo Creek Park, stroll around Glen Echo Park, and identify plant and animal life at Scott's Run Nature Preserve.

Bethesda is just a stone's throw from Rockville. Expect a daytime high around 74°F in May, and nighttime lows around 54°F. Cap off your sightseeing on the 17th (Mon) early enough to go by car back home.
