La Teste-de-Buch is a commune in the Gironde department in Nouvelle-Aquitaine in southwestern France.It is located on the south shore of Arcachon Bay, lying in the southwestern part of Gironde.It is the largest of four communes that comprise the (COBAS), a small metropolitan area of 54,204 population (1999 census). Get in touch with nature at Réserve Ornithologique du Teich and Ile aux Oiseaux. Explore La Teste-de-Buch's surroundings by going to Jetee d'Andernos les Bains (in Andernos-les-Bains) and La Pointe du Cap Ferret (in Cap-Ferret). There's lots more to do: learn about wildlife with up-close encounters at Zoo Bassin d'Arcachon, get great views at Observatoire Sainte-Cecile, take in the dramatic natural features at La Grande Dune du Pilat, and stroll through Plage de la Lagune.
