City of Light

A beautiful and romantic city fit for any itinerary, Paris brims with historic associations and remains vastly influential in the realms of culture, art, fashion, food and design.
Eiffel Tower and Basilique du Sacre-Coeur de Montmartre are good opportunities to explore the local culture. You'll find plenty of places to visit near Paris: Versailles (The Hall of Mirrors, Palace of Versailles, &more), Rouen (Musee des Antiquites, Musee des Beaux-Arts de Rouen, &more) and Musee de Saint-Maur (in La Varenne-Saint-Hilaire). There's still lots to do: steep yourself in history at Arc de Triomphe, admire the striking features of Louvre Museum, admire the natural beauty at Fondation Claude Monet, and wander the streets of Le Marais.

For photos, other places to visit, traveler tips, and other tourist information, refer to the Paris route planning site.

If you are flying in from United States, the closest major aiports are Paris-Orly Airport, Charles de Gaulle International Airport and Paris Beauvais Tillé Airport. Expect a daytime high around 64°F in May, and nighttime lows around 49°F.
