One of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world, Madurai sits on the banks of the River Vaigai and serves as a center of Tamil culture.
Start off your visit on the 1st (Tue): admire the landmark architecture of Thirumalai Nayakar Mahal, browse the different shops at Majesty Cine Mall, and then indulge in some personalized pampering at some of the best spas.

Bengaluru to Madurai is an approximately 3.5-hour flight. You can also take a bus; or drive. Expect somewhat warmer temperatures when traveling from Bengaluru in June; daily highs in Madurai reach 40°C and lows reach 30°C. On the 2nd (Wed), you'll have the morning to explore before heading off to Coimbatore.

Tea gardens and eucalyptus trees scent the air of the fields surrounding Ooty, a popular summer tourism destination up in the hills.
Change things up with a short trip to Sim`s Park in Coonoor (about 48 minutes away). There's lots more to do: admire the natural beauty at Government Botanical Garden, contemplate the waterfront views at Pykara Lake, revel in the low prices at Jai's King Star, and take in the spiritual surroundings of Elk Hill Murugan Temple.
