Pune has long enjoyed a reputation as a center of culture and commerce, with many dynastic rulers making the town central to their regional plans in the centuries before the British Raj.
Get a sense of the local culture at Dagadusheth Halwai Ganapati Temple and Sinhagad Fort. Kids will appreciate attractions like Raja Dinkar Kelkar Museum and Darshan Museum. Take a break from Pune with a short trip to Lohagad Fort in Khandala, about 1h 45 min away.
